Terms of Service

Moira includes public astrological calculators; chart saving and account tools; Urania Workspace; AI-assisted interpretations; a community blog; practitioner-directory, profile, review and inquiry features; paid Enhanced, Workspace and reader-listing plans; and donations.

You must be at least 16 and legally able to enter this agreement. If you use Moira for an organization, you represent that you may bind it. When entering another person’s birth information, you represent that you have lawful authority and will not misuse or publish it.

Provide accurate account information, protect credentials and devices, and promptly report unauthorized access to hello@moira-astro.com. You are responsible for activity under your account to the extent permitted by law. Do not share access in a way that defeats plan limits or use another person’s account without permission.

You must not use Moira to:

• violate law, intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights;
• harass, threaten, discriminate, impersonate, defraud, dox, exploit, or publish another person’s birth or private information without authority;
• upload malware, interfere with security or availability, bypass controls, probe without authorization, or automate access in a harmful manner;
• scrape or send requests at a volume that materially burdens the service, evade rate limits, or build a competing dataset from restricted user content;
• misrepresent professional qualifications, make deceptive health or outcome claims, or use astrology/AI as emergency or professional advice;
• manipulate reviews, engagement, billing, identity, or moderation systems.

These restrictions do not prohibit lawful security reporting, ordinary browser inspection, use of public APIs under their terms, or inspection, modification, and redistribution of Moira engine code under its MIT License.

Moira may offer Enhanced monthly/annual, Workspace monthly/annual, and reader-listing monthly subscriptions. The price, currency, cadence, included features, taxes, discounts, trial or coupon conditions, and renewal terms shown immediately before Stripe checkout control your purchase; marketing examples are not a permanent price promise.

A subscription renews automatically for the selected cadence until cancelled. By checking the required acknowledgement and completing checkout, you authorize recurring charges to the payment method held by Stripe. Cancel through the available account/customer-portal control or contact Moira for help. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period; access continues until then unless law, a charge reversal, abuse, or a stated offer requires otherwise.

Moira may change future prices or features with advance notice appropriate to the change and applicable law. A price change applies no earlier than a future renewal after the notice period and any required consent. Failed payments may cause retry, suspension, or loss of paid access. See Refunds & Cancellations.

Donations are voluntary, do not purchase equity or influence, and do not provide a tax-deductible receipt unless expressly stated. They do not create subscription access unless a checkout page explicitly says otherwise. Refund rules appear in the Refund Conditions.

You retain your rights in chart, birth-event, prompt, and other private input. You give Moira a limited, non-exclusive license to host, reproduce, transform, transmit, cache, and otherwise process that data only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, support, and maintain the requested service. This is not a license to publicly promote private chart data.

You retain ownership of articles, comments, reviews, profile material, and other content you submit. You grant Moira a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license limited to hosting, reproducing, formatting, adapting for display/accessibility, displaying, distributing, promoting inside Moira, and making technical copies needed to operate, secure, back up, and improve the service.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions required to submit the content and accept responsibility for it. Moira may edit formatting, label, moderate, reject, unpublish, preserve, anonymize, or remove content for editorial, safety, legal, operational, or policy reasons. After termination or deletion, public posts/comments may remain under anonymized attribution unless separately removed; limited copies may remain in backups, audits, disputes, or legal holds. The Community Terms provide additional rules.

First-party Moira product reviews are separate from practitioner-directory reviews. One current product review is allowed per signed-in account. Only an approved version is public; editing an approved review withdraws it from public and featured surfaces while the new version returns to pending moderation. You may permanently delete your review. A review removed by an administrator is read-only to its author unless restored to pending by an administrator. Editorial featuring does not verify a purchase, endorse the opinion, or change these moderation rules.

Practitioners are independent providers, not Moira employees, agents, partners, or representatives. Moira is not a party to external appointments, sessions, communications, advice, contracts, disputes, or payments between a practitioner and client.

A badge or verification indicator describes only the limited checks expressly stated beside it. It does not establish licensure, endorsement, background clearance, competence, availability, safety, or outcomes. Practitioners are solely responsible for qualifications, scope, disclosures, taxes, insurance, consumer obligations, recordkeeping, and professional/legal compliance.

Astrology and AI interpretations are for reflection, research, education, and entertainment. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or fabricated. Calculations may be affected by incorrect inputs, uncertain birth time, time-zone/location data, doctrine, rounding, data sources, or software defects.

Moira does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial, emergency, or other regulated professional advice. Do not delay qualified care or make a high-stakes decision solely because of Moira. Read the full Disclaimer.

The Moira calculation engine is available under its MIT License, which controls that code. Website code, product design, compiled assets, trademarks, branding, editorial content, and other materials not included in the engine’s MIT-licensed repository remain protected and are not licensed except as necessary to use the service.

Respect third-party rights. Copyright notices and counter-notices follow the Copyright & DMCA Process.

Moira may modify, limit, discontinue, suspend, or restore features for maintenance, security, legal compliance, product development, capacity, or business reasons. Where reasonably practicable, material adverse changes to paid service will receive advance notice or an appropriate remedy required by law.

Moira may restrict or terminate access for material or repeated breach, fraud, abuse, security risk, unlawful conduct, nonpayment, or risk to people or the service. When appropriate, Moira may provide notice and an opportunity to cure or appeal. You may stop using the service, cancel subscriptions, and request verified account deletion.

To the extent permitted by law, Moira is provided “as is” and “as available.” Moira disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and does not warrant uninterrupted, secure, complete, or error-free operation or any astrological, AI, practitioner, or community outcome.

To the extent permitted by law, Moira and Daniel Burkett will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, opportunity, or business, arising from the service. Aggregate liability for claims relating to a paid service will not exceed the greater of USD $100 or the amount you paid Moira for that service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These exclusions do not limit liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights and any liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or other category the governing law does not permit Moira to disclaim.

Michigan law governs these Terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts with jurisdiction in Michigan may hear disputes, but this choice does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections or a forum right that the law of your residence does not allow you to waive.

Before filing a claim, please email hello@moira-astro.com with a concise description and requested resolution so the parties can try to resolve it informally. Nothing prevents urgent injunctive relief or a report to a regulator.

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remainder stays effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without consent; Moira may assign them with the service subject to applicable notice and consumer rights. These Terms and incorporated policies are the entire agreement for the covered service. Notices may be delivered in-product, by account email, or on the Trust Center as appropriate.

Terms that by their nature should survive termination do survive, including ownership, licenses for retained public/technical copies, payment obligations, warranty disclaimers, liability limits, dispute terms, and lawful retention rights.
