How planetary and asteroid returns work
Choose Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune or Pluto, or select one asteroid from the engine's catalog search. The Sun uses a birthday year; other bodies use a search-from date at 00:00 UTC. An asteroid selection requests that same body at both birth and return.
What the chart shows
The result gives the exact return time in UTC and Julian Day, the natal target longitude, the selected body's placement, and a complete chart wheel with planetary positions, houses and aspects. The return place sets houses and angles; it does not change the geocentric event time. Solar and Lunar results can also include their existing astrological overviews.
Crossing motion
For a planetary or asteroid return, Either selects the first exact crossing after the chosen date. Direct only and Retrograde only filter the body's motion at that crossing; both search forward in time. A retrograde loop can produce several crossings, but this calculator returns one event per request.
Method and availability
Moira calculates tropical, geocentric ecliptic longitude returns using its exact event solver. Major-planet calculations use the website's JPL DE440 ephemeris; asteroid positions depend on the engine's admitted small-body kernels. A catalog listing does not guarantee coverage at every birth or return date. Unknown birth times require a known clock time before calculation, and unavailable bodies or dates produce an error.
This release calculates one return chart. Saving stores your birth data for reuse; it does not archive the calculated return packet.
